The Clark family business in the Philippines began back in 1988 by Peter and Melody Clark with “CPM” a Golf Bag manufacturing company located in Manila.
After a very bumpy start we grew to producing and shipping a 40Ft container of golf bags every day of the week to worldwide destinations. Customers included Callaway, Spalding, Titleist, Ben Hogan, Dunlop Slazenger plus many more. CPM was very successful for over 10 years but sadly the company became unprofitable when light weight carry bags became popular with the traditional PVC bags losing popularity overnight. CPM was unable to compete with the large China-based bag companies so golf bag production ended in the early 2000s.
During the wind down of the golf bag business, Melody who was our head in sales suggested we begin to manufacture shirts with the aim of supplying the local market with uniforms, corporate wear, and corporate items.
After the closure of CPM and months of deliberation Peter and Melody decided to move our warehouse to Makati (a city in the Philippines’ Metro Manila region and the country’s financial hub) and founded CSL (Custom Sports and Leisure) in 2006 with only one pattern maker and 6 skilled sewers.
From 2006-2007 - We experienced slow but steady growth and in 2008 Peter and Melody foresaw the huge potential with sublimation and decided to invest in two Epson wide format sublimation printers which helped us virtually double our orders overnight expanding rapidly to the Australian Market.
From 2008-2010 - Recording record sales and rapid growth CSL purchased an additional 10 Epson wide format sublimation printers over a period of 2 years and 1 Calendar roller press.
2011 - Recording yet another record year in sales CSL decides to replace all 12 Epson wide format printers with 12 Belgian Mutoh wide format printers and begins to use ONLY KIIAN Italian Inks.
2012 - Early 2016 - CSL starts to supply one of Australia’s Market leaders in the National Rugby League (NRL), with sales averaging seven figures in consecutive years and over 220 employees.
Mid-Late 2016 - It became apparent to us that we were rapidly out growing our warehouse and in mid-2016 we decided to move to Clark Freeport zone, which has a number of benefits such as better facilities, easier importations/exports, no flooding, no traffic, and no pollution.
Present - CSL is a well-respected garment manufacturer with humble beginnings and continues to supply a number of notable companies across the globe with well over 1,000,000 custom garments supplied.
